2002 (Tha Dogg Pound album)

2002 is the fourth studio album by American hip hop duo Tha Dogg Pound, released on July 31, 2001, through D.P.G. Recordz and Artemis Records. The album's title refers to what was perceived as the future sound of hip hop at the time.

The album features production primarily from Daz Dillinger, as well as contributions from Soopafly and Battlecat. It includes guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, and Bad Azz, among others.

Despite its name suggesting a futuristic sound, 2002 maintains a West Coast G-Funk style reminiscent of Tha Dogg Pound's earlier work. The album explores themes of gangsta life, relationships, and West Coast pride.

While 2002 received mixed reviews upon its release, it peaked at number 32 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 7 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album spawned singles such as "Just Doggin'" and "Some Bomb Azz (Pussy)."
