Trigarium
The Trigarium was an area in ancient Rome, located in the Campus Martius, used for equestrian exercises. It was primarily a training ground for horses and chariots, particularly in preparation for chariot races held in the circus. The name derives from triga, referring to a chariot drawn by three horses. The Trigarium was smaller than the nearby Campus Agrippae, another equestrian training ground, and its precise location is not definitively known, though it is believed to have been situated near the later Baths of Agrippa. Sources indicate it existed from the time of the early Roman Empire, continuing to be mentioned in accounts until at least the 4th century CE.
