Bedlam (2011 TV series)
Bedlam is a British horror television series that aired on Sky Living from 2011 to 2012. The series centers around a converted asylum, Bedlam Heights, now a stylish apartment complex in urban Leeds. The residents are unaware of the building's dark history and the paranormal activity that plagues it.
The first series focuses on Jed Harper (Theo James), a man plagued by visions of the dead, particularly those connected to Bedlam's past. He moves into Bedlam Heights to confront his visions and uncover the truth behind the building's haunting. He is joined by his cousin Kate (Charlotte Salt) and her friends, Molly (Ashley Madekwe) and Ryan (Will Young).
The second series features a new protagonist, Dan (Warren Brown), who possesses similar abilities to Jed. Dan arrives at Bedlam Heights hoping to control his visions and help those affected by the supernatural occurrences within the building. He works alongside new and returning characters as they confront the vengeful spirits that continue to haunt the location.
The series explored themes of mental illness, historical trauma, and the lingering impact of past events on the present. While visually stylish and aiming for a suspenseful atmosphere, Bedlam received mixed reviews during its run. It was ultimately cancelled after two series.
