Fred Wood (politician)

Fred Wood (born July 12, 1946) is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 2012 to 2020, representing District 27, Blaine County. He was first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2014, 2016, and 2018.

Wood served on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, the Health and Welfare Committee, and the Transportation and Defense Committee. He was known for his focus on issues related to taxation, healthcare, and transportation within the state of Idaho. Before serving in the Idaho House, Wood worked as a healthcare consultant. He holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. He did not seek re-election in 2020.
