Lemberg (Swabian Jura)
Lemberg is the highest elevation in the Swabian Jura, a mountain range in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its summit reaches an altitude of 1,015 meters (3,330 feet) above sea level. The mountain is a popular destination for hikers and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Black Forest, the Alps (on clear days), and the Neckar valley.
A prominent feature of Lemberg is its observation tower, which allows visitors to gain an even broader perspective. The tower has been rebuilt multiple times, with the current structure being a metal lattice tower.
Geologically, Lemberg is composed primarily of White Jura (Malm) limestone. The mountain's formation is a result of the uplift and erosion processes that have shaped the Swabian Jura over millions of years.
The mountain is located within the municipality of Gosheim in the Zollernalbkreis district. Access to the summit is generally via hiking trails from nearby towns and villages. The area around Lemberg is also known for its diverse flora and fauna.
