Tower Hamlets (UK Parliament constituency)

Tower Hamlets is a parliamentary constituency in Greater London, England, created in 2010. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by the first-past-the-post system.

The constituency covers a significant portion of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, generally the eastern and central parts. It includes areas such as Bethnal Green, Stepney, Whitechapel, Mile End, and Poplar.

The constituency was created following a review of parliamentary representation in London by the Boundary Commission for England. It largely replaced the former Bethnal Green and Bow constituency and a portion of the Poplar and Canning Town constituency.

Tower Hamlets is a diverse constituency with a large Bangladeshi community. Socioeconomic indicators often show higher levels of deprivation compared to the national average.
