Tony Mitchell (footballer)

Tony Mitchell is a former American football safety. He played college football at the University of Alabama, where he was part of two national championship-winning teams.

Mitchell was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played for the Cowboys for four seasons (2009-2012), primarily as a backup and special teams player.

After his time with the Cowboys, Mitchell played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013. He was released and signed by the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2014, but was released before the season began.

Mitchell's professional career was marked by periods of success on special teams, but he struggled to secure a consistent starting role in the NFL. He faced injuries and personal challenges that impacted his playing time.
