Peter Read (boxer)

Peter Read (born December 23, 1940) was a British professional boxer who competed in the 1960s. He is best known for holding the British middleweight title.

Read turned professional in 1963 and had a relatively short but successful career. He defeated Wally Swift Jr. in 1965 to win the British middleweight title. He lost the title to Johnny Pritchett in 1966. He retired from boxing shortly thereafter.
