Tom Ryder (rugby union)
Tom Ryder (born 16 August 1985) is a former English rugby union player. He primarily played as a lock.
Ryder's professional career spanned several clubs in England and France. He began his career at Saracens, making his debut in 2005. He subsequently played for Glasgow Warriors (on loan), before moving to Worcester Warriors. He then joined Northampton Saints, before moving to France, first playing for RC Toulon, and later for La Rochelle.
Ryder's imposing size and strength made him a valuable asset at the set piece, particularly in the lineout. Throughout his career, he was known for his physicality and work rate around the field. His career was curtailed by injuries, ultimately leading to his retirement.
