Ronen Bar

Ronen Bar is the current Director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). He assumed office in October 2021. Prior to his appointment as Director, Bar served in various operational and managerial roles within the Shin Bet. Much of his career details remain classified due to the sensitive nature of the agency's work and its focus on national security. His appointment followed a rigorous selection process and was ultimately approved by the Israeli government. As Director, Bar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Shin Bet's operations, including counter-terrorism, counter-espionage, and cybersecurity. He reports directly to the Prime Minister of Israel.
