Thomas Clausen (educator)

Thomas Clausen is a Danish computer scientist and academic known for his contributions to the field of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), particularly in the area of routing protocols. He is a professor at the École Polytechnique in France and has held professorships at other institutions, including the University of Cergy-Pontoise.

Clausen is best recognized for his work as one of the principal designers of the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. OLSR is a proactive link-state routing protocol optimized for mobile ad hoc networks, aiming to provide efficient routing in dynamically changing environments. He has been actively involved in the standardization of OLSR through the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force).
