Third Rail (TV series)
Third Rail was an American police procedural drama television series that aired for one season on CBS in 2008. The show centered on a rookie New York City police officer, Allie "Lex" Cross, who is partnered with veteran detective Teddy Palermo. The series explored the challenges and moral complexities faced by police officers in a major metropolitan area, with a particular focus on the "third rail" issues – the contentious and often divisive aspects of law enforcement.
The cast included Eriq La Salle, Blair Underwood, Nicole Paggi, and Billoah Greene. The series was created by Carol Mendelsohn and Neal Baer. Third Rail received mixed reviews and was ultimately cancelled after only eight episodes aired. While the program aimed to provide a realistic portrayal of police work and grapple with difficult social issues, it failed to find a substantial audience and struggled in the ratings.
