Hereafter (film)
Hereafter is a 2010 American fantasy disaster drama film directed by Clint Eastwood and written by Peter Morgan. The film tells three parallel stories about people who are touched by death in different ways: George Lonegan (Matt Damon), an American blue-collar worker with psychic abilities who tries to resist his gift; Marie Lelay (Cécile de France), a French journalist who survives a tsunami and has a profound near-death experience; and Marcus (Frankie and George McLaren), a young London schoolboy struggling to cope with the death of his twin brother.
The film explores themes of mortality, the afterlife, and the search for meaning in the face of loss. It received mixed reviews, with praise for Eastwood's direction and the performances, particularly Damon and de France, but criticism for the screenplay's unevenness and perceived lack of emotional impact. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
