Thinking of You (Bogdan Raczynski album)
Thinking of You is a studio album by Polish-American electronic musician Bogdan Raczynski, released in 1999 on Rephlex Records. It is his second full-length album release.
The album is characterized by its heavily processed, often chaotic and intensely rhythmic sound, typical of Raczynski's style which blends elements of IDM, breakbeat, and drill 'n' bass. Unlike some of Raczynski’s other work which features more overt melodic content, "Thinking of You" leans towards a more abstract and textural approach. The tracks are often dense and layered, utilizing heavily manipulated samples and synthesized sounds.
The album's artwork, consistent with much of Raczynski's output on Rephlex, is visually striking and often unsettling. It is worth noting that the album title and overall aesthetic presentation often contrast sharply with the complex and often abrasive nature of the music itself.
"Thinking of You" received generally positive reviews upon release, with critics noting its challenging and innovative sound design. It is considered a significant work in Raczynski's discography and an example of the more experimental fringes of electronic music in the late 1990s.
