The Cannibals (band)

The Cannibals were a British rhythm and blues band formed in Liverpool in the early 1960s. They are best known for being an early backing band for Rory Storm, and later, for launching the solo career of Billy Fury.

The band's original lineup included musicians who had previously played in other Liverpool groups. Their time as Rory Storm's backing band was short-lived, as Storm quickly moved on to form The Hurricanes with Ringo Starr.

The Cannibals found greater success backing Billy Fury, one of Britain's most popular rock and roll singers of the era. They provided the instrumental accompaniment for Fury's stage performances and recordings, contributing to his distinctive sound.
