The Adventures of Don Coyote (film)
The Adventures of Don Coyote is a 1947 American animated Technicolor short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. The short is part of the Goofy series. In this cartoon, Goofy narrates a humorous, stereotypical version of the legend of Don Quixote, only starring a coyote character named Don Coyote and his "trusty" burro, Rosinante (also portrayed as a Goofy-esque character). The animation heavily relies on caricatures of Mexican stereotypes, reflecting attitudes prevalent in the era the film was produced. The plot follows Don Coyote's misadventures as he tilts at windmills he mistakes for giants, attacks sheep he believes are an invading army, and generally bungles his attempts to be a knight-errant. The short is often considered controversial due to its cultural depictions.
