Alexander Marshall (Australian politician)

Alexander Marshall (born 15 May 1950) is a former Australian politician who served as a Liberal Party member of the Australian House of Representatives for the seat of Moore, Western Australia, from 1998 to 2013.

Marshall was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and emigrated to Australia with his family in 1960. Before entering politics, he worked in various business roles.

He was first elected to Parliament in the 1998 federal election, defeating incumbent Labor MP Paul Filing, who was running as an independent. Marshall held the seat through subsequent elections until his retirement at the 2013 federal election.

During his time in Parliament, Marshall served on various committees, including the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade. He was known for his advocacy on issues relating to veterans' affairs and national security.

Following his retirement from politics, Marshall has remained involved in community activities.
