Mihrabanids
The Mihrabanids were a Persian dynasty of Tajik origin who ruled Sistan from 1236 to 1346. They claimed descent from the Saffarids and sought to revive the Saffarid Empire. Their rule was often characterized by conflict with neighboring powers, including the Ilkhanate, the Kartids of Herat, and various local chieftains. While they occasionally paid tribute to larger empires, they often asserted their independence and attempted to expand their territory. Their capital was typically in Zarang. Internal rivalries and external pressures ultimately led to the decline and eventual collapse of the Mihrabanid dynasty, with Sistan falling under the control of other regional powers.
