Light Asylum (album)

Light Asylum is the self-titled debut and only studio album by American dark wave duo Light Asylum, released on May 1, 2012, by Mexican Summer. The album was written and produced by Shannon Funchess and Bruno Coviello.

The album is characterized by its stark, industrial sound, combining elements of synth-pop, EBM (Electronic Body Music), and gothic rock. Funchess's powerful, emotive vocals are a defining feature, often layered and processed to create a haunting and atmospheric effect. Coviello's production employs heavy synthesizers, driving drum machines, and distorted basslines, creating a soundscape that is both intense and melancholic.

The album received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its raw energy, distinctive sound, and Funchess's vocal performance.
