Christian Hanson (ice hockey)

Christian Hanson (born March 5, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He played primarily in the American Hockey League (AHL) and briefly in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Hanson played college hockey for the University of Notre Dame from 2006 to 2009. Undrafted, he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 26, 2009. He made his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs on April 4, 2009, against the Montreal Canadiens.

Hanson spent the majority of his professional career in the AHL, playing for various teams including the Toronto Marlies, Hershey Bears, Providence Bruins, and Hartford Wolf Pack. He was known as a physical player with good size and a willingness to engage in the physical aspects of the game.

After his time in North America, Hanson played overseas in Europe before retiring from professional hockey.
