Rick Yune
Rick Yune (born August 22, 1971) is an American actor, screenwriter, producer, and martial artist. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Fast and the Furious (2001), Die Another Day (2002), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), and Olympus Has Fallen (2013).
Born in Washington, D.C., to Korean parents, Yune attended Georgetown University, where he studied finance. While pursuing his studies, he worked as a model and began taking martial arts classes. He is proficient in taekwondo, karate, and hapkido.
Yune's acting career began in the late 1990s. His breakthrough role came with The Fast and the Furious, where he played Johnny Tran, a rival gang leader. He followed this with a portrayal of Zao, a henchman with albinism, in the James Bond film Die Another Day. He has since appeared in numerous other films and television shows, often playing characters with a strong physical presence or martial arts skills.
Beyond acting, Yune has also worked as a screenwriter and producer. He has advocated for increased representation of Asian Americans in Hollywood.
