Mushtaq Ahmad (Scottish politician)
Mushtaq Ahmad (born c. 1965) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician and former Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the South Scotland region. He was elected in the 2021 Scottish Parliament election and served until 2024.
Prior to entering politics, Ahmad worked in various roles in the community and business sectors. He stood as a candidate for the SNP in previous elections.
As an MSP, Ahmad served on various parliamentary committees and spoke on issues relevant to his region and the wider interests of the SNP. His policy interests include community empowerment, tackling poverty, and promoting equality. In January 2024, he resigned from the Scottish Parliament, citing personal reasons and health.
