Yeo U-gil

Yeo U-gil (여우길, 呂祐吉, born unknown, died 1337) was a Korean official during the late Goryeo Dynasty. He served as a high-ranking court official and played a significant role in the political landscape of the era.

Yeo U-gil distinguished himself through his abilities in both civil administration and military affairs. He is particularly noted for his efforts in suppressing rebellions and maintaining stability within the kingdom, especially during a period marked by internal strife and external threats from the Mongol Yuan Dynasty.

His official positions included serving as a member of the Chuseongjeolsa (추성절사, 秋成節使), a special envoy dispatched during autumn harvest festivals. He also held important posts in the military, contributing to the defense of Goryeo's borders and the suppression of internal unrest. Historical records suggest he was instrumental in maintaining order in regions experiencing significant turmoil.

Yeo U-gil's career reflects the complexities of Goryeo society under Yuan influence. His ability to navigate both the bureaucratic and military spheres allowed him to exert considerable influence and contribute to the stability of the kingdom during a turbulent period. He died in 1337.
