Jonathan Baker (bishop)
Jonathan Baker is a bishop in the Church of England. He currently serves as the Bishop of Fulham, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of London.
Baker was consecrated as a bishop on 25 July 2011, at St Paul's Cathedral. As Bishop of Fulham, he provides episcopal oversight for parishes within the Diocese of London that maintain a traditional Catholic understanding of ecclesiology and sacramental theology, particularly those that have requested Alternative Episcopal Oversight due to disagreements over the ordination of women as priests. He is a strong advocate for traditional Anglican teachings on issues such as marriage and sexuality.
Prior to becoming a bishop, Baker served as Vicar of the Church of St Peter, Bethnal Green in the East End of London for many years. He is known for his pastoral care and his commitment to serving the local community. He has also been involved in various theological debates within the Church of England.
