Ernestown

Ernestown is a small community located in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is situated within the township of Loyalist, in Lennox and Addington County. Historically, Ernestown was a separate township, but it was amalgamated with other surrounding townships to form Loyalist Township in 1998.

Ernestown's history dates back to the late 18th century, primarily settled by United Empire Loyalists following the American Revolution. These Loyalists were granted land in the area by the British Crown. The name "Ernestown" is believed to be derived from Ernest, a son of King George III of Great Britain.

The local economy of Ernestown is largely based on agriculture and tourism. The region's fertile land supports farming activities, while its proximity to the Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario makes it a popular destination for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and camping.

Ernestown is connected to other communities in the region by Highway 33, also known as the Loyalist Parkway.
