Ted Mann (writer)

Ted Mann (1916 – 2001) was an American playwright and screenwriter, best known for his stage adaptation of Eugene O'Neill's posthumously produced play, A Long Day's Journey into Night. This adaptation premiered on Broadway in 1986 and was highly acclaimed, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival.

Beyond his work with O'Neill's play, Mann authored several original plays, though none achieved the same level of success. He also contributed to television, writing scripts for various series.

Mann's adaptation of A Long Day's Journey into Night is often credited with bringing renewed attention to O'Neill's work and solidifying its place as a cornerstone of American dramatic literature.
