Target (American TV series)
Target was an American action-adventure television series that aired on NBC from 1977 to 1978. The series starred Monte Markham as Paul Trumball, an enigmatic troubleshooter and private investigator who worked for a secretive organization. He was assigned cases involving international intrigue, espionage, and corporate corruption.
The series typically featured Trumball investigating the "target" - the individual or organization causing the problems - and then implementing a plan to neutralize them. Each episode began with a briefing from Trumball's superior, Enid, played by Sabrina Scharf (in the first season) and later Cornelia Sharpe (in the second season). Enid would provide Trumball with the necessary resources and information for the case.
The show was known for its globe-trotting locations, showcasing various international settings each week. Target aimed for a sophisticated, James Bond-esque feel, but ultimately lasted for only one full season and part of a second.
