Burcher
A Burcher is a person who operates a burr mill. A burr mill, also known as a stone mill, uses two millstones (large, flat, circular stones) to grind grain into flour or meal. The Burcher controls the feed rate of grain into the millstones, adjusts the distance between the stones to achieve the desired fineness, and monitors the quality of the resulting flour. The term is often associated with traditional methods of flour production, particularly in smaller-scale or artisanal settings.
