Tabitha (TV series)
Tabitha was an American fantasy sitcom and a spin-off of the popular 1960s sitcom Bewitched. It aired on ABC from 1977 to 1978.
The series centered on Tabitha Stephens, the daughter of Samantha and Darrin Stephens from Bewitched, now grown up and working as a production assistant at a television station. Like her mother, Tabitha possesses witchly powers, but she tries to conceal them from her skeptical boss and the world at large.
Lisa Hartman played the role of Tabitha, replacing the child actresses who previously portrayed her on Bewitched. Tabitha lives in a rent-controlled apartment with her bumbling brother, Adam (David Ankrum), who also possesses warlock powers but has difficulty controlling them.
The show faced low ratings and was cancelled after one season consisting of 13 episodes. While it attempted to recapture the magic of Bewitched, it failed to achieve the same level of success. The show's premise differed significantly from the later years of Bewitched, where Tabitha was portrayed as a young child. This, along with other creative decisions, likely contributed to its short run.
