Derek O'Connor (footballer, born 1978)

Derek O'Connor (born February 11, 1978) is an Irish former professional footballer. A forward, he played in the League of Ireland for several clubs throughout his career.

O'Connor began his career with Shelbourne, making his League of Ireland debut in the 1996-97 season. He later played for Bray Wanderers, Longford Town, and Shamrock Rovers. He joined Waterford United in 2004, becoming a key player for the Blues. In 2008, he signed with Sporting Fingal. He rejoined Waterford United for a spell before finishing his League of Ireland career. Details of his later career and life are less readily available.
