Dirceu (footballer, born 1942)
Dirceu José Guimarães, known as Dirceu (June 15, 1942 – September 15, 1995), was a Brazilian footballer. He was a midfielder known for his technical skill and playmaking ability.
Dirceu played for numerous clubs throughout his career, both in Brazil and internationally. He began his professional career with Coritiba and played for Botafogo, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama, and America-RJ, among others, in Brazil. He also played professionally in Mexico and the United States.
Dirceu represented the Brazil national team at the 1974 FIFA World Cup. He earned 13 caps for Brazil and scored four goals.
He died in Rio de Janeiro in 1995.
