Synergism

Synergism is a phenomenon where the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents produces a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. It is the principle that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This amplified effect can manifest in various fields, including biology, chemistry, pharmacology, business, and ecology.

The opposite of synergism is antagonism, where the combined effect is less than the sum of the individual effects. It is also distinct from additivity, where the combined effect is simply the sum of the individual effects.
