Soame Jenyns (art historian)

Soame Jenyns (1904-1976) was a British art historian specializing in Chinese art, particularly ceramics, metalwork, and textiles. Jenyns was born on July 18, 1904, and educated at Eton College and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He entered the British Civil Service and served in various roles, including as a diplomat in China. His time in China fostered his deep interest in and knowledge of Chinese art.
