Thomas Kennedy (Irish politician)
Thomas Kennedy (1906 – 1983) was an Irish Labour Party politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for Tipperary North from 1948 to 1951, and then for Tipperary North East from 1951 to 1969.
Kennedy was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1948 general election, gaining a seat for Labour in the three-seat Tipperary North constituency. He retained his seat at the 1951 general election, now in the newly formed Tipperary North East constituency. He continued to represent this constituency through subsequent elections in 1954, 1957, 1961, and 1965.
During his time in the Dáil, Kennedy was a prominent voice for rural issues and workers' rights. He was known for his contributions to debates on agricultural policy and social welfare legislation. He retired from national politics at the 1969 general election.
