Francesco Mancini (footballer, born 1968)
Francesco Mancini (born 1 October 1968 in Matera, died 30 March 2012 in Pescara) was an Italian professional football goalkeeper and later a goalkeeping coach.
Career:
Mancini began his professional career with Matera in Serie C2. He subsequently played for several Italian clubs throughout his career, primarily in Serie B and Serie C1. He spent time with companies such as Barletta, Fidelis Andria, Foggia, S.S.C. Venezia, A.C. Reggiana 1919, Lucchese and S.S.C. Napoli, where he gained promotion to Serie A. He spent a short time in Serie A with Napoli before moving on.
Post-Playing Career:
Following his retirement from playing, Mancini became a goalkeeping coach. He worked with several clubs, including Pescara.
Death:
Mancini died on 30 March 2012 following a heart attack. He was 43 years old.
