Nude (band)

Nude was an American indie rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1990s. The band consisted primarily of Spencer Albee (vocals, guitar), Jim Macpherson (drums, later of Breeders and Guided by Voices), and Chris Brokaw (guitar, later of Come and Codeine). Later lineups featured other musicians.

Nude was known for its dynamic sound, characterized by a blend of melodic pop sensibilities and dissonant guitar textures. Albee's vocals often featured a slightly detached delivery, contrasting with the band's frequently intense instrumental arrangements. The band released several EPs and LPs, including "Four Songs" (1991), "Nude" (1992), and "A Brand New Idol" (1995).

Nude gained a reputation within the burgeoning alternative rock scene of the early to mid-1990s. While never achieving mainstream success, they garnered critical acclaim and built a dedicated following through touring and their recorded output. The band eventually dissolved, with members pursuing other musical projects.
