U2 (Hamburg U-Bahn)

The U2 is a line on the Hamburg U-Bahn (Untergrundbahn), the rapid transit system serving the city of Hamburg, Germany. It is part of the city's Hochbahn (Hamburger Hochbahn AG) network. The U2 line runs roughly north-south, connecting areas such as Niendorf Nord and Mümmelmannsberg. It interchanges with other U-Bahn lines, as well as S-Bahn (suburban railway) and bus routes, at various stations along its route. The line is primarily underground in the inner city but surfaces in the outer districts. Like other Hamburg U-Bahn lines, the U2 operates frequently throughout the day and is an important part of the city's public transport infrastructure.
