SouthGang
SouthGang was an American hard rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia in the late 1980s. The band was composed of Butch Walker (vocals/guitar), Jayce Fincher (bass), Pete McNeal (drums), and Mitch "Micheal Shane" Allan (guitar).
SouthGang achieved moderate success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, signing with Virgin Records and releasing two albums: Tainted Angel (1991) and Group Therapy (1992). Their sound was characterized by a blend of hard rock, glam metal, and funk influences, drawing comparisons to bands like Extreme and Living Colour.
While Tainted Angel spawned a few minor hits, including "Tainted Angel" and "Boys Club," the band failed to achieve mainstream success. Group Therapy, a more experimental and funk-infused album, was released to little fanfare, and SouthGang disbanded shortly thereafter.
Following the breakup of SouthGang, Butch Walker went on to a successful career as a solo artist, songwriter, and producer, working with numerous prominent musicians across various genres.
