Johnny Evans (Canadian football)

Johnny Evans is a former professional Canadian football player. He primarily played as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL) during the 1970s and 1980s.

Evans is best known for his time with the Montreal Alouettes, where he led the team to two Grey Cup championships in 1974 and 1977. His strong arm and ability to make accurate throws made him a key component of the Alouettes' offense during that era.

Prior to joining the Alouettes, Evans played college football at Boston College. Following his successful stint in Montreal, he also played for the Toronto Argonauts and the Calgary Stampeders before retiring from professional football.

Throughout his CFL career, Evans was recognized for his leadership qualities and his contributions to the sport. He was named an All-Star on multiple occasions and is remembered as one of the top quarterbacks of his time in Canadian football.
