Strangelove (band)

Strangelove were a British alternative rock band formed in Bristol, England, in 1991. The band consisted of Patrick Duffin (vocals), Alex Lee (guitar), Julian Pransky-Poole (bass), and John Allen (drums). Known for their intense and often melancholic sound, they released three studio albums: Strangelove (1993), Time for the Rest of Your Life (1994), and Love and Other Demons (1996).

Their music was characterized by Duffin's distinctive, powerful vocals and Lee's often intricate guitar work. Strangelove garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated following, particularly in the UK and Europe, but did not achieve mainstream commercial success. They were often compared to bands like The Smiths and Joy Division.

After the release of their final album, the band dissolved in 1998. Patrick Duffin pursued a solo career, while Alex Lee has worked as a session musician and composer, notably collaborating with Goldfrapp. The band's music continues to be appreciated for its emotional depth and atmospheric qualities.
