Christ Church (Cambridge, Massachusetts)

Christ Church is an Episcopal church located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Founded in 1761, it is one of the oldest continuously active Episcopal parishes in the United States. The current building, a Georgian-style structure designed by architect Peter Harrison, was completed in 1761.

The church played a significant role in the American Revolution. During the siege of Boston in 1775-1776, it was briefly used as a barracks by Continental Army troops. Prominent figures like George Washington worshipped at Christ Church.

Following the Revolution, the church resumed its religious functions and has continued to serve the Cambridge community for over two centuries. It is known for its historical significance, its architectural beauty, and its active role in social justice initiatives and community outreach programs. The building is a National Historic Landmark.

The church offers regular worship services, including traditional Anglican liturgy, and provides a variety of ministries and programs for adults, youth, and children. It is affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and the wider Episcopal Church in the United States.
