Orič

Orič, often referred to as "Oric," was a British home computer company founded in 1982. The company's primary product was the Oric 1, launched in 1983, a competitor to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64. The Oric 1 was followed by the Oric Atmos in 1984, which addressed some of the hardware and software limitations of its predecessor, notably improving the keyboard.

Both Oric computers were based on the 6502 microprocessor and were relatively affordable, making them popular in the UK and France. They were supported by a range of software, including games, educational programs, and productivity tools. Despite their initial success, Oric ultimately struggled to compete against larger and more established manufacturers, and the company went into receivership in 1985.

The Oric's legacy lives on through its dedicated fan base and the continued development of emulators and software. It remains a significant part of the history of early home computing in Europe.
