Kevin Lynch (computing)
Kevin Lynch (computing) is a software engineer and technology executive known for his work at Adobe and Apple. He is primarily associated with his roles in the development of web technologies at Adobe and later with the Apple Watch and health-related technologies at Apple.
Lynch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
He joined Adobe Systems in 2005, eventually becoming Chief Technology Officer (CTO). During his time at Adobe, he was a prominent figure in discussions regarding the company's technology strategy, particularly concerning Flash and HTML5. Lynch advocated for Adobe's vision of rich internet applications powered by Flash, a stance that was often contrasted with the rise of open web standards like HTML5.
In 2013, Lynch left Adobe to join Apple Inc. He held the title of Vice President of Technology, and was heavily involved in the development and launch of the Apple Watch. His responsibilities reportedly included overseeing the watch's software and health features. He has since taken on additional responsibilities within Apple, focusing on other health initiatives and technologies.
