N78 road (Ireland)
The N78 is a national secondary road in Ireland. It connects the N77 national primary road near Kilkenny to the M7 motorway at junction 3, near Attanagh, County Laois. The road passes through the towns of Castlecomer in County Kilkenny and Ballylynan in County Laois.
The N78 generally runs in a north-easterly direction from its starting point. It is primarily a single carriageway road. The road provides a link between the south-east of Ireland and the M7 motorway, offering an alternative to travelling via the larger cities. It experiences significant traffic volumes, particularly during peak hours and holiday periods. Local improvements have been carried out over the years to address safety concerns and alleviate congestion at certain locations along its route.
