Spooner (band)

Spooner was an American alternative rock band formed in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1993. The band's core members consisted of Susan Julian (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Gordy Goudreau (bass, vocals), and Pete Quinn (drums).

Spooner gained a regional following throughout the Midwest in the mid-1990s, known for their energetic live performances and Julian's distinctive vocals and songwriting. Their music blended elements of indie rock, power pop, and new wave.

The band released several albums and EPs, including "I Love My Own Way" (1995), "The Difficult Lie" (1997), and "Girlfriend" (1999). "Girlfriend" received national attention and helped expand their fanbase.

Spooner toured extensively, opening for and playing alongside bands such as Veruca Salt, The Rentals, and The Presidents of the United States of America.

The band officially dissolved in 2003. After Spooner's breakup, the members pursued other musical projects and personal endeavors. Julian has continued to write and perform music, while Goudreau and Quinn have remained active in the Wisconsin music scene.

Despite their relatively short lifespan, Spooner is remembered as a significant band in the 1990s Midwest alternative rock scene. Their music is still appreciated by fans and occasionally rediscovered online.
