Siu Sai Wan (constituency)
Siu Sai Wan is a constituency in the Eastern District of Hong Kong. It is one of the 35 geographical constituencies in the Legislative Council, electing one member via the first-past-the-post electoral system.
The constituency is named after the Siu Sai Wan area on the northeastern coast of Hong Kong Island. Its boundaries generally cover the residential area of Siu Sai Wan, including housing estates such as Siu Sai Wan Estate, Harmony Garden, and Island Resort.
The constituency was first created in 1995 for the Legislative Council election that year, and it has been in continuous use since. Its demographic composition is predominantly middle-class and working-class residents living in private and public housing.
The political representation of Siu Sai Wan has varied over the years, with candidates from both pro-establishment and pro-democracy camps winning the seat at different times. The electoral results are often seen as a bellwether for the overall political sentiment in Hong Kong.
