Singel (album)
A singel (alternative spelling: single) is a colloquial, primarily Dutch-language term for a compilation album consisting exclusively of tracks that were previously released as singles. It differs from a standard compilation album, which may include album tracks or other non-single material. A "singel album" is essentially a collection of an artist's or band's A-sides (and potentially B-sides) released up to a certain point in their career. It's often seen as a convenient way for fans to acquire all of an artist's hit singles in one package, especially before the widespread adoption of digital music and streaming services. The term is most common in the Netherlands and Belgium. The English equivalent would be a "singles collection" or "greatest hits" album, although these terms are broader and may include album tracks as well.
