Peter Wright (Australian footballer)

Peter Wright (born 8 September 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Wright was drafted by the Gold Coast Suns with pick 8 in the 2014 AFL draft. He made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2015, against Melbourne. Primarily a key forward, Wright spent six seasons with the Suns, showing potential but struggling for consistent form due to injuries and team performance.

At the conclusion of the 2020 AFL season, Wright was traded to Essendon. He quickly established himself as a key member of Essendon's forward line, demonstrating strong marking ability and contributing significantly to the team's scoring.
