Singam (film series)

The Singam film series is an Indian Tamil-language action franchise centered on the character Durai Singam, a police officer fighting injustice. Created by director Hari, the series stars Suriya in the lead role.

The franchise currently consists of the following films:

• Singam (2010): The first film introduces Durai Singam, a sub-inspector in a small village, and his clash with a dangerous criminal who encroaches upon his territory.

• Singam II (2013): This sequel sees Singam go undercover as an NCC officer in Thoothukudi to investigate illegal drug smuggling activities and a powerful criminal network.

• Si3 (also known as Singam 3, 2017): Durai Singam is assigned to investigate the murder of a police commissioner in Andhra Pradesh, uncovering a larger conspiracy involving illegal waste disposal and political corruption.

The films are known for their high-octane action sequences, fast-paced narratives, and the charismatic performance of Suriya as Durai Singam. The series has been commercially successful, contributing significantly to Suriya's star image and becoming a prominent action franchise in Tamil cinema.
