Samuel Bindon (Irish politician)

Samuel Bindon (1694 – 1766) was an Irish politician who served as a Member of Parliament in the Parliament of Ireland. He represented Ennis from 1727 to 1760. Bindon was the son of David Bindon and his wife, Jane Burton. He was a member of the Irish Whig party. His political career was largely uneventful, consisting primarily of attendance at parliamentary sessions and voting on legislation. He is perhaps most notable for being the uncle of Francis Bindon, a renowned Irish portrait painter and architect. He married Dorothea Burgh, daughter of William Burgh, in 1721, and they had several children. His family connections were influential in his political success. He died in 1766.
